I'm so excited--I've been nominated for an award! The Liebster Award is a really cool way to meet fellow bloggers, find kindred spirits, and get to know our blogging friends a little bit better. I was nominated by one of my personal favorites, Linn Acres Farm--you really need to go and check out their helpful and inspiring blog.

1. Where are you from?

Born, raised, and still reside in, Northeast Indiana

2. What is your favorite food or recipe?

I'm very partial to soup, in almost any shape or form.

3. Do you prefer summer or winter?

They both have their joys, but in summer I feel most alive.

4. Why did you start blogging?

As a way to journal my newfound passion for growing food and connecting to my past.

5. Is there anything you'd like to change in your life?

I'd like to have a little more time for myself. ;)

6. What is your favorite holiday?

Halloween.

7. What is your favorite thing to do with your free time?

Read, write, garden, long walks.

8. Do you have a daily routine?

Yes I do...and at this point in my life it mostly revolves around the kids.

9. Do you have any pets and if so what are their names?

My sidekick cat, Biscuit, and my rascally dog, Java.

10. What is one of your favorite books?

Billions and Billions by Carl Sagan.

11. What would you do if you suddenly won the lottery?

Buy property, set up greenhouses, and start a real homestead!

11 Random Facts About Me

1. I am addicted to the library.

2. I never really 'got' dog people until I adopted one in my late 20s. I've become a major dog person.

3. I am the only female in my house, human or animal. (any pics of girls that you see are my daycare lovelies)

4. I run a daycare from my home.

5. I am somewhat of a hermit and introvert and have worked to overcome it my whole life.

6. I feel like life gets better with age--I'd never go back!

7. I didn't have a cell phone until I was 34. Not sure how I managed!

8. My guilty pleasure is Jalepeno kettle chips. So bad, but SOOO good.

9. It took a lifetime to make peace with my large feet. ;)

10. I can't seem to throw away any card or note anyone sends me. I have shoeboxes full of them.

11. I lay awake at night sometimes, unable to sleep, dreaming of the empty lot across the street and how much I want to obtain it for growing food!
